Barry Town United loanees Josh Gould and Sam Bowen have returned to their parent clubs respectively.
The JD Cymru Premier is currently suspended as a result of its elite status being rescinded, owing to a rise in coronavirus cases in Wales.
As a result, professional clubs Cardiff City and Swansea City have recalled their two young players, to ensure game time.
Gould has been recalled by Swansea City, as a result of an injury to Swans goalkeeper Steven Brenda, with the former Taffs Well goalkeeper now in contention to play for their academy side again.
The 23-year-old made four appearances for the Linnets, as well as five bench appearances, working in an rotating role with Mike Lewis.
In a short social media post, Barry Town United tweeted: “Thank you to Josh Gould, who has returned to parent club Swansea City due to the current suspension of the #JDCymruPremier.”
Wales Online journalist Ian Mitchelmore confirmed that the Swans are looking to send Gould on loan elsewhere this month, which means a return to Jenner Park Stadium is unlikely.
Bowen meanwhile made seven appearances, scoring on two occasions, including a superb solo goal in Barry’s last played fixture, a 4-1 victory over the Cefn Druids.
The 19-year-old made an immediate return to Cardiff City’s U23s side as they suffered a 4-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic.
“Good luck to Sam Bowen, who has returned to parent club Cardiff City due to the current suspension of the Cymru Premier,” tweeted the club.
