Barrow: Welsh full-back Neal Eardley pens loan deal

Barrow have announced the signing of Welsh defender Neal Eardley on loan from Burton Albion.

Eardley, 32, has featured eight times for League One outfit Burton this season, who he joined on a one-year deal in August 2020.

The Llandudno-born defender has 16 Wales caps to his name, making his debut in a 1-0 over Bulgaria in August 2007.

“I am really pleased it’s been done and I’m excited to come in and work with the group,” Eardley told the club website.

“I know a couple of the lads already in Chris Taylor and Jason Taylor, I used to play in the same Youth Team as them, so I’m looking forward to seeing those familiar faces and meeting everyone else. I spoke to both of them and they had nothing but good things to say about the Club and it probably helps to know a couple of people when you’re coming into a new dressing room so it’s a bonus.

“I am just really excited about it now and looking forward to getting in to training on Friday and getting ready for the weekend. I have been around a while now so I would like to think I will bring some experience to the group and just try to help the lads and the Club to move in the right direction.

“I am coming there to work hard and put in some good performances with the lads which will hopefully get us moving up the table.”
