Taffs Well announce Craig Sampson as new first-team manager

The former Caerau Ely manager guided the club to the Cymru South last season

Taff’s Well have appointed Craig Sampson as the club’s new head coach, after the departure of Lee Kendall to Cambrian and Clydach Vale.

Sampson joined the Wellmen’s backroom staff in June 2020 as assistant coach to Kendall, but has now been given the hot-seat at the Cymru South club.

Prior to his arrival at the Bowen Groundworks Stadium, Sampson had experience of management at Caerau Ely.

“I’m extremely delighted to be given the opportunity to manage Taffs Well,” said Sampson after his appointment at the Rhiw’r Ddar club.

“It’s a club I have always had a strong connection with over the years. I’m confident and passionate about taking a lead role within the club to accelerate and support its progression.”

During his time with the Young Guns, the club earned promotion from the Welsh Football League Division One into the Cymru South.

After a tough start to the season in Tier Two, Sampson resigned in November 2019.
