Bristol Manor Farm attacker Jamie Bird returns to Barry Town United
Barry Town United have announced that attacking player Jamie Bird has returned to the club from Bristol Manor Farm.
Bird was a loanee from Cardiff City for Barry in the 2016/2016 season in which he impressed in the Welsh League.
The 23-year-old moved to Hereford following his release from Cardiff, where he helped the Bulls to the Southern Premier League title.
He then played for Croesyceiliog and Merthyr Town briefly, but returned to Manor Farm, where he has been most recently.
This season, he had only featured twice for the Portwaymen following a knee injury.
“I’m really happy to be back,” said Bird upon his return to the club.
“’m delighted to be working with Gav again because I feel like he got the best out of me.
“He’s really professional and I believe he can get me back playing the way I was a few years ago and get my game back in order.
“My short period at the club before was probably when I was at my best, so this feels like the perfect move. I’m hungrier than ever to play football.”
Manager Gavin Chesterfield added: “Jamie has a great pedigree and he was fantastic for us in his spell here before.
“I’m excited to be working with him and I think he’ll benefit from being part of our culture and training environment.
“He is a creative player, but a powerful player as well, and will add a different dimension to our team.”
