Flint Town United have signed FIVE new players and they’ve all come from the same club.
The Silkmen are expected to announce the signings of Eddie Clarke, Evan Gumbs, Jordan Buckley, Josh Amis and Mitch Duggan, who all hail from Warrington Town.
All four players are moving from the Northern Premier League outfit with their season currently on pause due to the current Tier Four restrictions in England.
Defenders Evan Gumbs and Eddie Clarke are both joining having formerly been a part of Tranmere Rovers’ academy.
Gums, has two appearances in the National League for Tranmere, but spent time on loan at Burscough, Salford City and Trafford.
Since his release from Tranmere in 2020, Gumbs has been playing for Warrington.
Joining Gumbs at the Essity Stadium is Clarke, who began his senior career with Tranmere. He had one season in the National League before being snapped up by Fleetwood Town.
He made just two appearances for in League One, but had loan spells at Macclesfield Town and Stockport County.
Midfielder Mitch Duggan is also formerly of Tranmere Rovers, of whom manager Neil Gibson played for.
Duggan can operate as a midfielder and as a wing-back.
The 23-year-old made 16 appearances for Tranmere over the space of four years and had loan spells at Marine and then Warrington, before signing permanently with The Yellows.
Completing Flint’s transfer activity is forward striker Jordan Buckley,
Buckley has experience in the English non-league scene with FC United of Manchester and Irlam FC.
Lastly, Josh Amis was announced by Flint, who had an eventful day of Deadline Day signings.
Amis was an academy product of Preston North End, but moved into the non-league scene with Altrincham, Marine, Northwich Victoria and then Stockport County.
The 26-year-old forward once scored five goals in the National League North for Stockport County and is a Cheshire Senior Cup winner.
Warrington’s season is unlikely to resume due to their non-professional status but there is a hope the Cymru Premier will resume soon due to its top flight status.
The English non-league club however remain hopeful that their players will return to Cantilever Park when football resumes at their level.
