Forward Michael Bakare has joined Vanarama National League outfit Hereford on a short-term deal.
The 34-year-old joins the Bulls until the end of the season having left Connah’s Quay last summer, where he had remained as a free agent.
Bakare made over 80 appearances for the Nomads, scoring 30 goals during a three-year stay at the Deeside Stadium, winning the Cymru Premier title, Nathaniel MG Cup and the Welsh Cup.
Bakare, who can operate as a winger and a striker, also played and scored in the Nomads’ Scottish Challenge Cup defeat to Ross County.
Former Wrexham man Bakare has previous experience in the division with sides such as Dover, Macclesfield, Southport, Tonbridge Angels and Welling.
Bakare was also named the Player of the Season in the JD Cymru Premier after scoring 14 goals in which he was also named in the Team of the Season.
“Michael is a real lively attacking threat” said Bulls boss, Josh Gowling to the clubs official website.
“He likes to get on the ball, drive forward and is capable of skipping past players” added Gowling.
“He’s got a good bit of experience at this level, so hopefully he’ll come in and complement the younger lads.
“He trains well and I am sure he will be a good boost to the squad. He brings us something we’ve not got at the moment, he can play in a couple of attacking roles and so he will give us a few more options going forward.”
He is eligible to play in tonight’s league match with Brackley Town at Edgar Street this evening.
