Sheffield United and West Brom are amongst a number of clubs interested in Toulouse and former Connah’s Quay striker Rhys Healey according to The Star.
Norwich, Middlesbrough and Bournemouth are also among the other clubs interested in what appears to be a five-club chase for the 26-year-old.
The Manchester-born striker made the move to France last summer following a breakout season as he joined Ligue 2 side Toulouse FC from MK Dons in a deal rumoured to be in the range of £1 million.
Since his signing, he has managed nine goals in 18 games for the club with the French side now sitting second in the league table.
Healey actually begun his senior career playing for Cymru Premier champions Connah’s Quay Nomads, where he managed 15 goals in 29 games.
This caught the attention of Cardiff City who signed the striker from the Nomads in 2013 for an undisclosed fee. He made a total of 16 appearances for the Bluebirds, scoring one goal during his time at the club.
He had numerous loan spells away from Cardiff at Colchester United, Newport County, Torquay United and more prominently at MK Dons during the 2018/19 season in which he managed nine goals in 22 appearances in all competitions.
Before signing for the Dons permanently at the end of the season for an undisclosed fee where he then managed to grab an extra 12 goals taking his tally to a total of 21 goals for the side.
The Deeside academy product has been compared to the likes of Jamie Vardy considering his similar rise from rags to riches. He was named Ligue 2 Player of the Month for December 2020 and is reported to be valued at around £5 million by Toulouse.
