Former Cefn Druids forward Ramirez Howarth has put pen to paper on a new deal at Lincoln City, agreeing on terms until June 2022.
After an extremely successful trial period left Imps boss Michael Appleton impressed, Howarth moved to the LNER Stadium on a permanent basis last Summer.
And since transferring to Lincolnshire, the 23-year old has earned plaudits for his attitude and application, netting two goals in fifteen appearances for the League One side.
Speaking on his contract extension, Howarth said “I couldn’t be happier and prouder to be a part of this football club, I have enjoyed my time so far working under the Gaffer.
“I’m so grateful for the support of the fans and I look forward to feeling their support behind the stadium soon.”
Appleton, who also recently renewed terms at Lincoln, added “Remy is a young player who has worked very hard this season. We are delighted to see him commit himself to the club beyond this season.”
Howarth is finally reaping the rewards of a culmination of hard work and resilience to overcome some truly testing setbacks.
The versatile forward had spent time on the books of Blackburn Rovers prior to his release at the age of nineteen.
A subsequent slipped disc left the winger sidelined for over eighteen months and doctors warned Howarth that he may never play football again.
However, a full recovery meant that Remy could return to doing what he does best and his comeback is a telling narrative for any hurdle-facing youngsters in the game.
