Cardiff City academy product James Waite has joined League of Ireland Premier Division side Waterford on loan until the end of the season.
The 21 year old returned to the Bluebirds from Weston Super Mare back in January but has now gone back out on loan away from English football for the first time.
Whilst Waite has never made a league appearance, he made his one and only feature for City against Luton in the cup back in 2019.

Waterford said in a statement: “James joins the Blues on loan for the 2021 campaign and will link up with his Under-19’s international teammate Cameron Evans.
“We’re looking forward to meeting and interviewing James once he arrives.”
As well as linking up with Swansea City loanee Evans, Waite joins a Waterford outfit where former Cardiff goalkeeper Brian Murphy currently plays.
Championship veteran striker Daryl Murphy also plays for the Blues after returning to his hometown club back in September 2020.
Waite’s versatility will be a big asset for the Blues as he is comfortable in a range of positions across both the midfield and attacking lines.
He has also been playing in an unfamiliar left wingback position for the Cardiff Under 23’s recently which will interest City fans as to where James Waite will operate during his time over in Ireland.
