The 2020/21 JD Welsh Cup has been cancelled by the Football Association of Wales.
The decision has been taken by the National Cup Board who have deemed the competition ‘impossible to make viable’ as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a result, the team which finishes in third place will qualify automatically for the newly-formed UEFA Europa Conference League.
Teams in fourth to seventh will compete for the final European berth, however, must possess the UEFA Licence if they are to compete in the European play-offs.
Haverfordwest County have not applied for the certificate and thus will not compete in the end-of-season play-offs, which will take place in May.
This is the last season in which Wales will have four European spots with the Cymru Premier reduced to three next season.
Meanwhile, the FAW Women’s Cup and FAW Futsal Cup has also been shelved for this season.
The FAW Girls’ Cup however, which is for Under-16’s teams can go ahead and will resume on April 11.
