Cascade Ladies 0-7 Cardiff Met: Ruthless Archers put seven past Cascade

A consummate away performance saw Cardiff Met run out 7-0 winners over Cascade Ladies at CSE Ystrad Mynach.

Chloe O’Connor, Erin Murray, and Emily Richards all had earned braces before Robyn Pinder rounded off the scoring.

The Archers reduce the gap on Swansea City to just three points after the champions were held to a goalless draw by Port Talbot Town.

Kerry Harris’ side claim a third straight win meanwhile Cascade lose their sixth successive game as they remain rooted to the bottom of the table. 


An early chance presented itself to the hosts as Cascade’s Abbie Davies found space in the box but she put her shot wide of the goal.

Cardiff Met started brightly as Amy Long was able to play the ball across the Cascade box but Hollie Williams was able to gather the ball. They followed up with a long-range effort from Chloe O’Conner but she turned her shot wide.

Met kept putting the pressure on Cascade’s defence and got the first goal after eight minutes. Chole O’Connor’s shot across goal went past Hollie Williams, who got a hand to it but there was enough power on the shot.

Cascade battled hard against the relentless Met attacks as Emily Richards shot wide and Amy Long’s effort forced a fine save from Williams. Cardiff Met were soon two up. Erin Murray headed in from Amber Roberts’ cross from the right side.

Moments later, Hannah Mills saw her free-kick from just outside the box cannon back off the crossbar as Met looked to assert their dominance.

The half continued with Cardiff Met attacking constantly looking for more goals. Emily Richards had another effort saved by Williams before heading wide from Amber Roberts cross from a quickly taken short corner.

Met moved the ball across the pitch trying to stretch the Cascade defence and got the third goal thanks to Richards. Murray and Pinder worked the ball well before Richards carefully placed her shot past Williams.

Richards was able to claim a quick-fire brace as she put Met four goals to the good before the break. The ball fell to Richards inside the box and she fired into the roof of the goal.

The second half followed a similar pattern to the first as Cardiff Met kept the pressure on the home side.

After 54 minutes it was five as O’Connor finished from a good passing move. Pinder and Murray exchanged passes before sliding in O’Connor who’s composed finish rounded off a lovely move.

Met’s clinical afternoon in front of goal continue as Murray scored her second.

Lucy Finch made a run down the left and found herself in the box but her shot was saved, Murray however was on hand to turn in the rebound.

Robyn Pinder then headed in a seventh from close range to round off a good terrific display from Cardiff Met.
