Sean McAllister, midfielder for Newtown, says he will call time on his playing career after their UEFA Europa Conference League campaign.
The 33-year-old, who has had a 15-year senior playing career, will be in contention to play in the Robins’ first-round qualifying two-legged tie with League of Ireland outfit Dundalk.
However, elimination from the Robins’s first European journey since 2015 will see his playing commitments end.

“Playing the game I love has given me so much and it will be nice to go out on a high.
Thank you to all the coaches and managers that helped me achieve my dream, the teammates and opponents that pushed me every day, and the supporters of those clubs I had the honour of representing.
“I won’t be done with football as I will be moving to the other side of the white line but these last few games, I will as I always have done, give it my all. It has been a pleasure.”
McAllister, who joined Newtown in 2019 after his release from Chester, has gone on to make 52 appearances under Chris Hughes.
For the first and only time in his career, he will play on the European stage.
His journey began at Sheffield Wednesday where he was once named Young Player of the Year, playing five seasons in the Championship.
Coupled with short stints at Mansfield, Bury, Shrewsbury, Port Vale, and then Cowdenbeath, most of his success game at Scunthorpe United.
Winning promotion to League One for the second time as a runner-up, he turned out 89 times for the Irons.
Since then he played for Grimsby Town, before dropping into the non-league.
