Makeup of North Wales Women’s Football League finalised

The makeup of the North Wales Women’s Football League has been finalised for the 2021/22 season.

Beginning on September 5 and playing in the league are; Amlwch Town, CPD Y Rhyl 1879, CPDM Bangor 1876, Caernarfon Town, Holywell, Llangefni Town, Llanystumdwy, NFA, Northop Hall, Trearddur Bay, and Welshpool Town.

The division will sit at the third level of the footballing pyramid after restructuring by the Football Association of Wales.

Sitting below the Adran North, the NWWFL has 11 teams with the winner of the respective division, should they possess the tier two criteria, will win promotion.

As a result of the odd number of teams, each weekend there will be one side that goes a Sunday without a game.

The league includes teams from phoenix clubs such as Bangor 1876 and CPD Y Rhyl 1879. Caernarfon Town have also reformed their Women’s team after previously playing in the Welsh Premier Women’s League.

Llanystumdwy and NFA secured a Tier Two Licence but were not admitted to the new league.

Colwyn Bay like the two clubs mentioned were also another team that passed the criteria but have opted have not fielded a team this season.
