Connah’s Quay Nomads sign Francesca Scott from The New Saints
Francesca Scott has dropped down a division to join Connah’s Quay Nomads from The New Saints.
The 21-year-old has moved turned her attention from a relegation battle in the Adran Premier to a promotion race in the Adran North.
Scott, made seven appearances for the Oswestry side, winning on two occasions. The former Stoke City forward found the net in her first match, scoring in an opening day loss to Pontypridd Town.
Commenting on the signing, manager Jordan Parry said: “A great signing for Connah’s Quay Women. It is one that I am really looking forward to working with. Welcome, Francesca Scott.”
Scott’s departure leaves the TNS squad with just two Welsh players in their squad.
Before joining the Saints for their first season in Welsh football, she played for Stoke City Ladies.
She turned out for their youth sides and in doing so represented Wales at the Under-17s level. The striker was also a High-Performance Hurdler.
The Nomads are currently third in the league, having lost their opening day match to Llandudno, before bouncing back with a narrow win over Airbus UK.
Last Sunday, they were knocked out of the FAW Women’s Cup, losing on penalties to Bethel Ladies.
