Penycae haved moved quickly to swiftly appoint Dan Richards as their new first-team manager.
The club advertised the post 11 days ago after Lee Pope had to stand down from the role due to increased work commitments, having appointed him in November 2020.
Answering the call was Richards, who for the last two-and-a-half years has been manager of Cefn Mawr Rangers before he stood down from his duties last week.
Commenting on his appointment, he said: “I am really excited to meet up with the players and other members of the club this week.
“This is an exciting challenge, which I’m really looking forward to.
“Thank you to the Chairman, Colin, and the Board of Directors for giving me the opportunity to join Penycae and placing their trust in me to take the club forward.”
He will begin immediately and will take tomorrow’s training session, before taking charge for their league match with Machynlleth on Saturday.
Joining him at The Riverside will be Eddie Lancaster as joint assistant manager, where he will work closely with Matty Griffiths.
Penycae currently occupy 12th spot with half of their league fixtures played. They have recorded three wins, four draws and eight defeats so far.
Their last match was a 3-2 defeat to Llanfair United last Saturday and have not tasted victory since the end of August.
