Airbus claimed a crucial win over Llandudno to go four points clear at the top of the Cymru North.
Jake Eyre scored Airbus’ second penalty after Adam Davies missed the first to break the deadlock. Oliver Lanceley later added a second goal to secure the win over Dudno.
The victory was even more impressive given Stephen O’Shaughnessy‘s side had been reduced to ten men after Joe Palmer’s two yellow cards inside half-hour.
Sean Eardley’s men drop to third as Guilsfield won 6-1 at home against defending champions Prestatyn Town to overtake the Seasiders.
The first chance of the game fell to Llandudno’s Shaun Cavanagh who was found in space down the right-hand side, setting his sights on goal he sliced his shot wide.
There were very few chances in the opening 25 minutes with the conditions playing a big part.
Despite the windy conditions, there were a few glimpses of what the teams are capable of, a few half-chances fell Llandudno’s way with Brookwell and Thomas providing dangerous crosses across the area that weren’t met by a Llandudno shirt.
Palmer saw red for Airbus on the 31-minute mark after receiving a second yellow card for a bad foul.
Yet another great cross was fired across the box by Llandudno, Morgan Owen this time inviting a touch from a teammate but to no avail.
Airbus had the opportunity to go ahead a few minutes into the second half when Adam Davies was brought down in the area, he stepped up for the penalty but fired over the bar.
Dean Seager replaced Shaun Cavanagh after 65 minutes and was straight into the action when he forced a good save from Airbus keeper Dutton through on goal.
The Wingmakers then had another penalty kick when Lee Thomas handled in the area. This time it was substitute Jake Eyre who stepped up, firing confidently into the bottom right-hand corner.
Airbus who grew into the game had another good opportunity through Davies when Spender whipped a great ball towards the far post, Davies met it, but Pearson was up to the task and saved well.
Llandudno went close with 15 to play when Brookwell got a toe onto a ball put in from the left-hand side, his effort went just wide.
With time ticking away, Airbus put any chance of a Llandudno come back to bed when Oliver Lanceley tapped in from a few yards out to make it 2-0 after Brown’s effort evaded Pearson in the Seasiders net rolling kindly for his teammate Lanceley.
The Wingamakers held onto the lead in the last few minutes to earn three away points against their title challengers Llandudno.
