Swansea City maintained their perfect start to the Adran Premier season with a convincing win over Port Talbot at Victoria Road.

Swansea went on the attack from the start, Ria Hughes having a shot blocked then shortly after hitting one wide.

Good pressure from Kirsty O’Donnell saw her win the ball from a defender and make a run for goal. With O’Donnell seemingly though on goal Alicia Powe came across to clear the ball away to deny a goalscoring chance.

Swansea’s pressure told as they opening the scoring on 14 minutes. Katy Hosford made a run down the right and sent a good cross, Terri Beddows tried to head it over the bar but the ball hit the woodwork and fell to Chivers who tucked the ball in the net.

Port Talbot did cause Swansea problems on the counterattack. Terri Beddows ran the ball over halfway and found Fahey-Pennell who sent in a cross that Powe had to put out.

Another cross into the box from Swansea was not cleared by Port Talbot and give Chivers a chance. Heading at goal Chivers was not able to put much power on the ball and Emily Roberts was able to save.

Swansea should have been two up before halftime. A good ball from Chivers found Hosford in space. Hosford sent in a cross that Port Talbot were unable to clear. The ball fell to Stacy John-Davis who from close range put the ball wide of the goal.

Chivers tried a long-range shot early on but it was too close to the goalkeeper who made a comfortable save.

Ellie Lake also tried to hit one in from distance but again too close to Roberts who collected the ball.

Hosford was again causing problems as her cross from the right found the head of Laura Davies. Davies headed just over the bar.

On 58 minutes Swansea got their second goal again from Chivers. With the ball bouncing around the box, it fell to Chivers who fired a volley into the net.

Swansea looked to press home their advantage as went looking for a third. A good ball from Chivers found Ria Hughes who forced a good save from Roberts, soon after Ellie Lake hit a shot just wide from outside the box.
