Former Bangor City and Cardiff City coach joins coaching staff of Barry Town
Barry Town United have boosted their coaching staff by appointing Kevin Nicholson as their first-team coach.
The Linnets were on the lookout for a new coach after Richie Williams moved on to a full-time job at the FAW Trust.
Nicholson had most recently been working with the intermediate groups in Northern Ireland, as well as a coaching auditor for the Premier League.
“I’m delighted to be joining the club, Gavin, and the management team in the role of First Team Coach,” said Nicholson to the official club website.
“Whilst having a background in Welsh football, over the past three years I have had the opportunity to work with leading clubs across the world.
“I am looking forward to contributing to the work done by the coaching team to help the players to build on their strengths, add to their skills, and achieve success.”
Backing up Nicholson’s comments, first-team manager Gavin Chesterfield commented: “As a manager, one of the most important aspects is observation, and Kev’s appointment will allow me to observe more effectively. Kev is an experienced and well-qualified coach and I’m excited to work with him.”
