The New Saints Home Winning Run Continues
It may be a new year, but Anthony Limbrick’s side’s 3-1 against Connah’s Quay Nomads at home on Friday continues a 100% winning steak in all competitions at Park Hall.
If The Saints keep this up, a 14th JD Cymru Premier title may well soon come to Oswestry.
Lee Evans
It was Evans’ final game as a referee after being appointed the new match officials manager of the FAW.
This brings an end to a 31-year refereeing stint in which Evans achieved a lot, including being promoted to UEFA category one status to be an official at World Cup and UEFA Euro qualifying games.
Declan McManus
The Scottish forward is now up to 18 goals in the Cymru Premier after scoring a brace in his latest outing and leads the way in the golden boot race.
McManus has a way to go to beat the league record which is held by former Saints player Marc Lloyd Williams who got 47 while at Bangor City in the 2001/02 season.
Ben Clark
Clark scored a contender for goal of the month live on the Sgorio cameras.
The midfielder certainly had a great game all round and has earned his place in the TNS starting line-up this season.
Mind The Gap
The result on Friday means that there is a 20-point gap between the league leaders and the defending champions.
Craig Harrison’s team will have to pick up form if they stand any chance of a third consecutive league title in the second phase.
The club from Deeside are just a point above seventh place that is currently occupied by Bala Town with four games of phase one to go.
