Llandudno 3-0 Colwyn Bay – Derby delight for Danny and Dean as Seasiders shoot Seagulls

Dany Brookwell got the scoring underway with a fantastic finish into the bottom right-hand corner to make it 1-0 to the Seasiders.

Llandudno made it 2-0 when Ashton’s headed effort was deflected past Coughlin in the Bay net.

Dean Seager came on to score the third in the final ten minutes with a shot from a few yards out on the back post.

The first efforts of the match came from Cai Owen and Kieran Evans who’s long range shots were easily saved.

After only nine minutes Llandudno were ahead through Danny Brookwell when he slotted home from outside the box. It came from great work by Morgan Owen down the right who fed Cavanagh who was in space, he then laid it off to Brookwell who fired home.

Sam Jones looked lively in the first period for the Bay, he shot wide after 17 minutes after a positive drive.

With 21 minutes of the match gone, Llandudno made it two when Ashton’s deflected header off Platt sneaked inside Coughlin’s right-hand post.

With Llandudno full of confidence after two goals in around 20 minutes, they went in search of the third that nearly came when a great ball from Thomas on the right found Marc Williams in the box, his header looked goal bound, but it was deflected for a corner.

A few minutes later Llandudno had the chance to go three up when Cavanagh found himself racing down on the Bay goal with just Coughlin to beat, he hit a shot that went narrowly wide of the mark.

Three minutes later it was Brookwell’s turn to have a go in on goal. This time the shot was on target, but Coughlin made himself big to save the effort.

Ashley Woods replaced Kieran Evans at half time, Woods’ first real chance was a header twenty minutes into the second half that was straight at Pearson.

With 82 minutes on the clock the Seasiders added a third goal when substitute Dean Seager received the ball for a tap in at the back post.

Colwyn Bay edged the possession of the ball but lacked the final pass. Llandudno were bright and created plenty of chances especially in the first half.
