Andrew Ruscoe stands down as manager of Prestatyn Town

Andrew Ruscoe has announced that he has stood down as first-team manager of Prestatyn Town.

Ruscoe, who was chairman of fifth tier FC United of Wrexham, was appointed as the successor to Ben Heath back in December.

In a parting statement released on social media, he posted: “After careful consideration I feel my time at Prestatyn Town has now come to an end.

“I am proud of what we achieved at the club since I was left with six players in January, where a complete rebuild had to happen which saw many youngsters making full debuts and many other players given chances that they wouldn’t usually get at this level.

“I have completed the role I set to achieve. I want to thank Jamie Welsh for the opportunity he gave me to prove myself at this level.”

Prestatyn have not won a game since November and are on a nine-game winless run, picking up just two points from a possible 27.

Two of those points came under Ruscoe when they drew with Llangefni Town and Buckley Town.

The club are six points adrift of safety with four games left in their season, though all come against sides currently in the top half of the table.

Ruscoe’s departure is the second from Bastion Gardens this week after it was announced that Sebastian Kidd had departed the club, linking up with Lex XI.
