Port Talbot Town’s ten-year stay in the top flight of Women’s football has been brought to an end after their relegation was confirmed.
The Steelwomen suffered a 4-0 defeat to The New Saints on the final day of the season and were leapfrogged by Barry Town, who claimed a win over Pontypridd Town to retain their status on the pitch.
There was a slight chance they would receive a reprieve as Cardiff City, Pontypridd Town, Swansea City, and The New Saints failed the first time with their Adran Premier Licence applications.
All four teams though were successful on appeal and will take their place in the division, alongside the Adran South winners Abergavenny Women, Aberystwyth Town, Barry, and Cardiff Met.
As well as Adran Premier Licences, there was also a UEFA appeal to consider. Swansea City were unsuccessful in its first attempt but have since secured the necessary qualification to play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
