Barry Town United have been busy in the transfer market again by making an additional four new signings for the upcoming Cymru South season.

Both Aiden Lewis and Drew Fahiya have joined from Pontypridd United whilst Cameron Clarke and Rhys Davies have joined from Cambrian & Clydach Vale and Aberystwyth Town.

Lewis and Fahiya were key members of the Dragons’ side that finished second to win promotion from the Cymru South which will add valuable experience in the Linnets’ quest this season.

He is joined by Lewis who makes the move to his hometown club, leaving Pontypridd after years of service.

After the move was announced, Lewis said: “Thank you all for the messages of welcome, support, and well wishes, certainly feeling all the love and am very proud

“Thanks also too Pontypridd United for a memorable 6 years wish them all the best for the future! Here’s too a successful time Barry Town United.”

Gavin Chesterfield and his staff have also persuaded Rhys Davies to move despite the potential of playing in the Cymru Premier.

Full-back Davies was at Aberystwyth last season and played regularly in their defence but has opted to make the move to Barry.

The 21-year-old has made 49 appearances for the Black & Greens over the last two seasons, getting three goals from defence.

In a short social media post, Davies tweeted: “Big season ahead,” after his move to Jenner Park Stadium was confirmed.

Topping off the business is goalkeeper Clarke who moves on after two years with Cambrian & Clydach Vale.

The 25-year-old played 27 times for the Sky Blues last season, making 10 clean sheets across all competitions.

Midfielder Robbie Patten has also put his footballing career on hold for the time being after issues with injuries over the last few seasons.

Patten made 17 appearances in all competitions last season after recovering from a long-term injury.

In a statement posted on Instagram, the 25-year-old tweeted: “After several MRI scans, multiple different physio / specialist + chiropractic appointments, 100s of massages and 3 back injections. I’ve decided to take some time away from the game as it’s become very physically and mentally draining. Hopefully, this isn’t my last time playing and the future will bring some positive news. Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the journey.”
