Ex Bristol Rovers, Wimbledon, and Port Vale striker rejoins Carmarthen Town

Carmarthen Town have re-signed centre forward Kaid Mohamed for the upcoming Cymru South season.

The 37-year-old is back at Richmond Park after leaving them back in 2007 following a successful second spell.

Mohamed had spent nine seasons in the Cymru Premier as a player and is back in the Welsh domestic game after last playing for Salisbury.

He turned out for Swindon Town, Cheltenham Town, Port Vale, AFC Wimbledon, Northampton Town, Accrington Stanley and Bristol Rovers in the Football League.

Commenting on his return, he said: “After some difficult times in my life, I am delighted to be working with Aizelwood again and enjoying the experience at Carmarthen Town AFC and hope to help them regain their Premier League status.”

He is the third bit of business that Carmarthen have made after the additions of Nick Jones and Sam Parsons.

Jones transferred from Cinderford Town after the completion of his duties at University.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper was on the books of Haverfordwest County and also played for Cheltenham Saracens in the Hellenic League.

He said to the official club website: “Having come back home I am delighted to sign for Carmarthen Town AFC and want to try and establish myself as first choice goalkeeper.”

Parsons was the first signing of the summer and joined having worked with assistant manager Andy Legg last season.

The 20-year-old was previously on the books of Cardiff City for ten years as a scholar before making his next steps in the game.

He can play as a left-back and in midfield and made 31 appearances in total for the Reds last season.

“Carmarthen Town AFC are one of the biggest clubs in the Cymru south and I did not hesitate to join,” he said.

“I enjoyed my time at Llanelli but feel that Carmarthen Town AFC are best suited to progress my career.”

All three players could appear against Llantwit Major in Carmarthen’s Round One match in the Nathaniel MG Cup on Saturday, July 23.
