Three late goals sees the Bay win local derby over Borough

Alex Downes opened the scoring late on with a backpost header, McCready then added a second with a fine right footed finish before James Kirby slotted the ball home to make it three.

The Bay started the game on the front foot with a few early chances falling the way of striker James Kirby.

The home side’s first chance fell to Cory Williams who headed the ball wide from the centre of the box after ten minutes.

Kirby came close after 20 minutes when he saw his powerful header strike the bar.

The Bay looked set to go ahead after 30 minutes when Kirby was played through on goal, but goalie Crowther raced out and stopped him in his tracks.

There was half a chance for Conwy not long after when McCaffery hit a long ball towards Davies out on the right, Sam Hart tried to knock it back to his keeper but sold him short nearly allowing Davies to capitalise, Woods gathered as the Conwy man tried to take it around him.

There was a WOW moment as the half came to a close when Kirby chested the ball down and set captain McCready who struck a beauty of a volley that rattled the Borough bar.

A few chances fell to the Bay before the half time whistle with Downes heading wide from a corner and a McCready low shot saved by the keeper.

The Bay started brightly in the early stages of the second half with a couple of efforts going just wide from Allshorn down the left.

Allshorn was in and amongst it again, crossing low to try and find Creamer who was racing towards the penalty area, but the ball evaded him.

Sam Hart stopped Conwy in their tracks just as the striker was about to hit a shot on the left side of the box, the Bay then broke with Downes who fizzed a cross to the back post but there was no one to meet it.

The Bay finally got the breakthrough six minutes from time through Alex Downes who headed home at the back post from a McCready corner.

The Seagulls added a second two minutes after when Creamer cut a ball back to his captain on the edge of the box, he turned his man and slotted the ball into the back of the net confidently.

It got worse for the home side a minute later as Kirby slid the ball underneath Crowther to make it three.
