SPFL Trust Trophy: New Saints given tricky Dundee test as Caernarfon away at Clyde

Caernarfon Town and The New Saints have found out their SPFL Trust Trophy third-round opponents.

Cymru Premier champions TNS will host  Dundee, who were recently relegated from the Scottish Premiership at Park Hall.

Caernarfon – who defeated Flint Town United in the play-off final in May – will travel to Glasgow to face Scottish League One outfit Clyde.

Welsh teams are making their return to the competition after a two-year absence owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Non-Scottish teams weren’t admitted to the competition to reduce any travel issues.

TNS’ opponents Dundee are currently sixth in the Scottish second tier and have a familiar face in their ranks.

Tyler French, who was at Wrexham for two seasons joined the Dens Park club earlier this summer.

Adam Legzdins, who spent the majority of his career in England, played for the likes of Burton Albion, Birmingham City, and Derby County.

They are coached by Gary Bowyer, who was most recently the manager of League Two outfit Salford City, whilst he also coached at Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool, and Bradford City.
