Nice midfielder Aaron Ramsey suffers hamstring injury – doubt for Wales double header

Aaron Ramsey looks set to miss out on Wales’ two Nations League fixtures this month after sustaining an injury.

Wales travel to Brussels to face Belgium on September 22 before hosting Poland at the Cardiff City Stadium on September 25.

Rob Page’s side are currently bottom of the group after picking up one point from four matches and risk being relegated.

Get French Football News say that Lucian Favre confirmed the Welshman would be absent for the next three weeks.

Ramsey has sustained a hamstring injury which will keep him sidelined for their next few matches, as well as Wales’ two crunch ties.

In his pre-match press conference, the Nice boss said: “Aaron will be out for three weeks. He injured his hamstrings on Sunday against Monaco.

The 31-year-old joined the Ligue One side earlier this summer and has played a total of eight matches already, starting half of them.

He made an immediate impact scoring against Toulouse on his debut as well as assisting for a goal against Lille.

In his last match, Ramsey played 55 minutes before being subbed off against Monaco, which has later been revealed by his manager as an injury-enforced sub.

He would almost certainly miss the match with Roberto Martinez’s side who are second in the group and would be touch-and-go for the tie with nearest placed Poland who are three points ahead of them.

A squad announcement is to be expected shortly which will clarify the situation and announce the full makeup of the squad.
