Briton Ferry welcome Cambrian and Clydach to Old Road on Friday night in the JD Cymru South. It will be fourth against third in a key game at the top of the Cymru South.
Briton Ferry are unbeaten in the Cymru South so far this season with four wins and four draws. They will however be wanting to turn those draws into wins to keep pace with the other sides at the top of the league.
The Reds come into this game on the back of two cup wins having beaten Croesyceiliog in the Welsh Cup and Taffs Well in the Welsh Blood service League Cup. Despite two wins their league form is where they’ll want to improve after drawing the last wo league games. A 2-2 draw with Cwmbran Celtic was followed by a 2-2 draw with Swansea Uni. Swansea getting a 90th minute equaliser at Old Road.
Cambrian and Clydach have had a good start to the season going unbeaten in their first seven games. They were beaten 4-1 in their last league match by newly promoted Pontardawe Town. After Josh Bull gave them an early lead Pontardawe turned the game around to pull off a shock win.
Last seasons meetings saw a win for both sides, both in their home matches. Cambrian winning 3-0 in their home game with Briton Ferry winning the return fixture at Old Road 3-2.
Both teams like scoring goals and like to attack. Josh Bull has seven goals so far this season for Cambrian while Briton Ferry’s Luke Bowen has six.
