Yzzy Taylor has left her role as manager of Cardiff Met after an 11-year association at Cyncoed Campus.
The Archers’ Adran Trophy final victory last week proved to be Taylor’s final game in charge, as she steps down from her post. She succeeded Kerry Harris in the post several years ago, going from player to manager.
In a statement, published on Taylor’s personal Twitter account, it read; “11 years have come to an end. Following last weeks brilliant cup final win. I sadly stepped down as manager of Cardiff Met WFC.
“I am now looking forward to a different challenge in my coaching career and wish the Archers all the best for the future.”
Taylor played for the Archers before coming their manager. In her tenure in charge, she won five league titles, three FAW Cups, and five League cup titles.
Therefore, it was almost written in the stars that she won a trophy in her final game. A 3-1 win against Cardiff City to win the Adran Trophy, the first team to beat the Bluebirds this season.
Taylor leaves Cardiff Met third in the Adran Premier Championship Plate table, a position Met are likely to finish in come the end of the season in three weeks’ time.
Her departure also means the league has lost its only female manager. Taylor was not in the dugout for the Archers’ 9-0 defeat to Cardiff City on Sunday.
Cardiff Met have yet to make a comment and have not announced her successor.
