Two goals from Jordan Evans helped Baglan Dragons to a 4 – 0 victory over their local rivals Port Talbot Town
Baglan blew away the visitors in the first 25 minutes with goals from Kieran Parsons and Evans. The Dragons kept capitalizing on the poor defensive line that Port Talbot had. Jordan Evans was a constant threat in behind.
Port Talbot failed to pose a threat in the first half seeming dejected after conceding the second goal.
This would be summed up by the unsteady actions of Tom Rogers in goal for The Steelmen. He was given the ball with miles of space but spent around 30 seconds on it. This gave Tom Randall the opportunity to nick the ball. Randall was quick to pounce and took the ball off of Rogers and fired into an open net in what as a calamitous passage of play.
Port Talbot trailed 3 – 0 to their closest rivals going into the break. But in the second half, they came out with a positive aura to them. They threatened to come back into the game until the hour mark.
A dangerous free kick from Port Talbot turned into a deadly goal for Baglan. Port Talbot’s lack of ruthlessness was met with no remorse by Jordan Evans who sprung past the Port Talbot line yet again and dinked the ball over the helpless Rogers for his brace and Baglan’s fourth.
As usual in a derby, tempers flared and tensions rose which lent itself to an entertaining final quarter.
But for the Steelmen, their lack of away goals this season haunted them again. Their ill-confidence on goal was very evident as they continually flattered to deceive. They could not get a goal. So the Dragons claimed bragging rights, and even better their promotion hopes remain intact
