Taffs Well part company with Craig Sampson – successor already found
Taffs Well and first-team manager Craig Sampson have mutually agreed to part ways.
Sampson is stepping down from his role after two full seasons in charge at Rhiw’r Ddar. He replaced Lee Kendall who moved to Cambrian & Clydach and picked up the reigns on a permanent basis in 2021.
He guided Taffs Well to seventh and 11th-placed finishes and this year his team reached the semi-finals of the Nathaniel MG Cup.
A statement read on their official website: “Taffs Well Football Club can confirm the resignation of first-team manager Craig Sampson. We are very grateful for the time and effort put in by both Craig and Dan Hooper over the past two seasons.”
The Wellmen won’t be conducting a search for a new boss however with a management team of Geza Hajgato and Nathan Cotterall announced. Both Hajgato and Cotterall have supported Sampson on the sidelines and will now work together as a pair.
The club said: “Geza and Nathan are eager to continue the tradition of developing young players, in conjunction with strengthening the squad to challenge in the JD Cymru South.
“We are confident under their guidance Taffs Well will continue to build on our position within Welsh football.
“We look forward to embarking on this new chapter together and invite supporters to join us in supporting this new management team as we work together for a successful season.”
