The Cymru Premier 2023/24 begins next week, but do the teams look the part?
New kits are what usher in a new season, but in some teams cases they’ve decided to keep what they wore last year. It’s a wise decision for those who want to get the maximum shelf life out of their shirts and save fans some pennies during the cost-of-living crisis.
Nevertheless, Haverfordwest County have had two kits this year. They’ve worn a European kit sponsored by The Athletic, and now their home strip Clegg Gifford, an insurance broker that is registered in London.
Macron is the most popular kit manufacturer with five teams paired with the Italian kit maker. They also provide the balls for the Adran and Cymru Leagues.
The second most favourite is Errea with Caernarfon Town, Cardiff Met and Newtown all with another manufacturer from Italy. Connah’s Quay recently made the switch from Nike to Adidas and their new kit has gone down well.
Pontypridd United are with Joma, meanwhile, Colwyn Bay who have kept the same shirt as their 2022/23 Cymru North winning season, have their shirts designed and made by Oldham-based Hope and Glory. Aberystwyth Town, who have a silhouette of the town on their shirt are with Acerbis.
