Cymru South side part company with manager in shock move after recent promotion pushes
Briton Ferry Llansawel have parted company with first-team manager Andy Hill.
Hill’s last action was losing 3-2 to Cambrian & Clydach Vale on Friday night. At the time of his departure, the Reds are third in the Cymru South standings and three points off league leaders Llanelli Town, and in the quarter-finals of the Nathaniel MG Cup.
Chris Llewellyn and Mark Napieralla will take charge on an interim basis whilst a permanent replacement is sought.
A club statement read: “Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC have today parted company with Manager Andy Hill.
“The Club would like to put on record its sincere thanks to Andy for all his hard work, since being at the club and wish him well for the future.”
Hill was appointed manager of Ferry back in August 2021 after succeeding Carl Shaw. He led the club to consecutive third-place finishes and got them to the southern final of the Welsh Blood Service League Cup.
Ferry’s record this season is five wins and two defeats in their opening seven matches with 14 goals and 10 assists. Their defeats this season have come to second-placed Afan Lido and seventh-placed Cambrian & Clydach Vale.
Their next match comes on Friday when they host Abergavenny Town at Old Road in the league.
