Caernarfon Town dealt blow as Chester make transfer decision

Zack Clarke applauds the Caernarfon Town fans

Caernarfon Town have been dealt a blow after Chester opted not to extend Zack Clarke’s loan spell.

The 20-year-old joined the Cofi’s on a six-month loan deal however his stay at The Oval will end there and will now return to his parent club.

In a statement reacting to Clarke’s recall, the Canaries said on Facebook: “We can confirm that Zack Clarke has been recalled by Chester Football Club. Zack signed for us on loan during the summer and has made a vital contribution to our season so far, having scored eight goals in the first half of the campaign.

“It has been a pleasure having Zack at the Oval and we wish to thank him for his commitment and endeavours whilst with us. We wish Zack the very best of luck in the future.”

He departs Caernarfon having scored nine goals in 22 appearances. Caernarfon was Clarke’s second loan in Wales having played for Flint Town United last season where he scored six goals in nine games.

Luckily for Caernarfon, they still have the goal-scoring exploits of Adam Davies who has netted 12 goals and three assists in 22 games since joining from Airbus UK. Creative midfielders Sion Bradley and Louis Bradley are Caernarfon’s third-highest scorers with six goals apiece in 23 games

Caernarfon have made one signing in the January transfer window so far. Porthmadog right-back Morgan Owen – who scored against Caernarfon in the Nathaniel MG Cup – joined earlier this month and is in line to make his debut this weekend.

Richard Davies’ side have a trip to Cardiff Met on Saturday, January 3, which will be televised by Sgorio. Caernarfon are currently sixth and are in competition with Haverfordwest County for the final spot in the Cymru Premier Championship Conference.
