Carmarthen Town forward Noah Daley has dismissed social media talk of a move to the English Football League.
Twitter account TransferCentre9 which boasts nearly 7,500 followers and is a Twitter Premium user posted the rumour on Wednesday morning. In their post, it read: “Northampton Town have appeared to win the race to sign Carmarthen Town top goalscorer Noah Daley.
“Accrington Stanley were also interested too.”
In a few short tweets, addressing the rumours Daley said: “Not true pal,” along with a laughing emoji as well as “Fake news buddy,” which bluntly put an end to the speculation.
The same account has also linked Barry Town striker Ollie Hulbert with a move to MK Dons. It claimed that the League Two outfit would pay £75k for him and would offer an 18-month contract however that is not the case, and it is simply social media talk.
Daley held a trial with Wrexham in 2019 but was unsuccessful and returned to the Welsh domestic game. The 21-year-old has got 10 goals in 20 games for the Old Gold this season and is an integral part of Mark Aizlewood’s plans.
Aizlewood has dipped his toes into the transfer market this month by re-signing two former players. Centre-back Lewis Rocke has returned to Richmond Park from Ammanford whilst Scott Tancock is back having spent 10 months out of football.
