Wales C players celebrate with Sion Bradley after scoring against England

Wales C claimed a hard-fought victory over England C at Stebonheath Park on Tuesday night.

Caernarfon Town’s Sion Bradley scored the only goal of the game in difficult conditions in Llanelli. His free kick got fans out of their seats to appreciate his stoppage-time effort.

Mark Jones’ side did well to grind out for the victory and now have an evenly poised record with the Three Lions. It’s two wins apiece and one draw since the formation of the fixture.

The game is a huge platform for those to potentially change the paths of their careers. Here we give our player ratings for Wales C following their victory.

Kelland Absalom – 8

Did a sound job in between the sticks. He didn’t have to make many saves but when he did, they were superb. Twice denied Ollie Pearce with one right at the end.

Kane Owen – 7

The slippery surface made it difficult for Owen to play his natural game but he did make some of his trademark passes.

Mael Davies – 7

Encountered a difficult opponent in Reece Smith who managed to get a few crosses in. Forced him and Ollie Harfield in to some errors.

Lee Jenkins – 7

Interesting that he started in the half of the three. Did pretty well dealing with the threat of McCallum.

Emlyn Lewis – 7

He responded well to losing the captaincy and playing in a slightly different role to previous years.

Ryan Sears – 7

Got an opportunity early on. Put in a decent shift and was a part of a defence that nullified the England attack.

Danny Gosset – 7

Did what was asked of him which was to win the midfield battle. Timed his challenges well and kept England at bay through the centre.

Clayton Green (C) – 7

Involved in one of the big talking points from the game. It took a fair amount of time to decide whether to book him or not. Played the game well and was creative by producing a few crosses.

Jordan Davies – 7

He will have probably have wanted to have had more of a say in the game but he did his role well. Davies brought people on to him which freed up some space for his teammates.

Sion Bradley – 9

Star of the show. Many people are talking now about how he’s deserving of a move into professional football. He dazzled many with a mazy run in the first half and his free-kick was superb.

Josh Williams – 7 (subbed off, 61)

Perhaps a surprise start given the experience of the other option but the youngster did well.

Noah Edwards – 7

Came on for Josh Williams on the hour mark to pack the midfield. It was quite a scrappy half-hour in the second half, but that suited Edwards.

Ryan Harrington – N/A

Came on in the final five minutes. Made a good run down the flank to supply Davies with an opportunity.

Ben Ahmun – N/A

Came on in stoppage time so there wasn’t much for him to do.
