The Football Association of Wales (FAW) confirmed on Friday (June 7) the 44 teams competing in the 2024/25 Ardal Leagues.

Promotion and relegations have been confirmed for teams coming down from the Cymru North and Cymru South and the feeder leagues. A total of 10 teams have been promoted from the various regional leagues and six are down from the Cymru Leagues.

Aberbargoed Buds in the South East chose not to apply for a Tier 3 Licence and will be relegated to at least the Gwent Premier League. Abercarn United were given a reprieve despite finishing in the bottom three. The North East division only ran with 15 teams, so only Welshpool Town and Llanrhaeadr went down.

Here’s where all 64 teams will be playing next season and where they are all based on our interactive maps.

Ardal Leagues

Ardal North East

Kerry finished first in the Central Wales Football League North for a second consecutive season and this time they have been promoted. The Powys based out are the only team to get promoted in what is only one of four changes.

Brickfield Rangers have been moved across from the North West, whilst Chirk AAA and Llanidloes Town after being relegated from the Cymru North have been placed in the division.

Ardal North East (16): Bow Street, Brickfield Rangers, Builth Wells, Cefn Albion, Chirk AAA, Dolgellau AA, Kerry, Llandrindod Wells, Llanfair United, Llangollen Town, Llanidloes Town, Llansantffraid Village, Llanuwchllyn, Penycae, Radnor Valley and Rhos Aelwyd

Ardal North West

Five out of the six new teams in the North West won promotion. Corwen – champions of the North East Wales Football League have been placed in the West, along with second-placed Connah’s Quay Town. Connah’s Quay are now playing at the former home of the Nomads, Deeside Stadium.

North Wales Coast Wales champions Trearddur Bay are up along with Rhyl-based NFA who won the Eastern division. Porthmadog who finished third from bottom in the Cymru North are the only team to be relegated into the North West.

A vacancy was made available in the North West and Menai Bridge Tigers have filled that. Menai finished second, 16 points behind Trearddur and a point above Nefyn United.

Ardal North West (16): Corwen, Connah’s Quay Town, Conwy Borough, Felinheli, Holyhead Hotspur, Llangefni Town, Llannefydd, Llanrwst United, Menai Bridge Tigers, Nantlle Vale, NFA, Porthmadog, Pwllheli, Rhyl 1879, St Asaph City and Trearddur Bay

Ardal South East

In the most surprising change to the South East division, Canton have been moved across from the South West. Canton are based in the West of Cardiff and there are other teams in the capital that could be considered more eastern, whilst there was a suggestion that AFC Llwydcoed could be moved across.

Abergavenny Town and Abertillery Bluebirds finished 16th and 15th in the Cymru North respectively and take up two places. Abergavenny have since appointed former Pontypridd United coach Rhys Llewellyn as their manager.

Croesyceiliog were convincing winners of the Gwent Premier League Premier Division and went up along with second-placed Newport Corinthians. Abercarn United despite finishing 14th and occupying the third and final relegation spot were given a reprieve because of Aberbargoed’s withdrawal from the league.

Ardal South East (16): Abercarn United, Abergavenny Town, Abertillery Bluebirds, Blaenavon Blues, Brecon Corries, Caldicot Town, Canton, Chepstow Town, Croesyceiliog, Goytre, Newport Corinthians, Risca United, Tredegar Town, Treharris Athletic Western, Treowen Stars and Undy.

Ardal South West

Two teams each have come up from the South Wales Alliance League and the West Wales Premier League but neither of them were crowned champions.

FC Cwmamman and Rockspur Fords won the respective leagues in South Wales but neither had a Tier Three Licence. Evans & Williams finished second and came up along with Clydach who finished fourth.
