A big away win for Cardiff Met continued Briton Ferry’s tough start to life in the top division. Caernarfon bounced back from last weekends defeat with a big away win away to Newtown.

The New Saints didn’t appear in league action again due to their participation in Europe with their fixtures against Connah’s Quay Nomads and Briton Ferry postponed this bank holiday weekend.

Here is a look at all of Friday nights action in the JD Cymru Premier.

Ryan Reynolds shines for Cardiff Met as they hit five at Old Road

It was another difficult night for Briton Ferry as they were bested 5-1 at home against Cardiff Met. Summer signing Ryan Reynolds opened the scoring for the away side in the 43rd minute as his deflected effort from the edge of the area beat the keeper.

They doubled their lead before the break as defender Matthew Chubb headed home following a corner. Lewis Rees added a third just past the hour mark as his left-footed effort slipped under the hands of Alex Pennock in goal.

CJ Craven got a fourth for The Archers as the ball pin-balled in the area before he prodded home despite the best effort of the home defence. Tom Price got a consolation goal for the hosts against his old side with a well taken header.

Substitute Jake Morris sealed the win in added time when Eliot Evans found him free in the box to fire home. The result means Ryan Jenkins’ side move to the top of the table as Briton Ferry remain bottom without a point in their first three games.

Caernarfon Town bounced back from defeat with an impressive 4-0 away win against Newtown. a fast start from The Cofis saw Phillip Mooney open the scoring after six minutes as he flicked home a cross.

Adam Davies added a second in the 69th minute, his header nestled into the top corner to double their advantage. Zack Clarke made it three in the 89th minute tapping home after Alex Swindell dropped a cross at his feet.

There was further misery for the home side as Shane Sutton deflected a shot into his own net late on to end a tough evening for The Robins, as they suffered their first defeat of the season.

Bala Town made it back to back 2-0 home wins as they beat Flint Town United. George Newell opened the scoring in the 39th minute tapping home from a pinpoint Osebi Abandaki cross.

Abandaki was the creator again as he turned in the area to find Newell as he fired home his third of the campaign in the 83rd minute. The result means Flint remain in the relegation zone having failed to register a point in their opening three fixtures.

An acrobatic effort from Jonathan Evans in the first half was the difference as Aberystwyth Town got their first win of the campaign with a 1-0 victory at home to Barry Town United. A first defeat of the campaign for The Linnets having drawn their first two.

Neither side could find the winner at the LHP Stadium as Haverfordwest County and Penybont drew 0-0. Veteran forward Chris Venables had opportunites with his head but failed to convert as a goal-line scramble in the Penybont area was cleared off the line.

Both sides remain unbeaten in the competition as the league is back in action Monday afternoon.
