Trefelin end Trethomas Bluebirds winning run & Penrhycoch seal first victory with dramatic 94th minute goal

A late goal from Trefelin saw Trethomas Bluebirds’ winning start to their Cymru South campaign come to as Penrhyncoch got their campaign up and running with a dramatic away win.

Here is a roundup of all the action from the JD Cymru North and South on Friday night as the hunt for a place in the Cymru Premier continued.

Cymru North

A late fightback from Penrhyncoch saw them pick up their first win of the season in a 3-2 away victory against Ruthin Town. A brace from Jack Edwards either side of a strike from Llyr Owen saw the home side with a 2-1 lead at the break.

The away side levelled in the 86th minute with a goal from Tomos Evans before a 94th minute winner from Geoffrey Kellaway snatched all three points.

Guilsfield made it back to back wins with a 3-1 victory away to Prestatyn Town. The Seasiders had new manager Chris Morell in their dugout following the departure of Matty Roberts.

Bangor 1876 got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory away to Llandudno. Goals from Joe Culshaw and Corrig McGonigle got their third league win of the season.

Denbigh Town dispatched Gresford Athletic 5-1 at Central Park. Nathan Brown scoring a hat-trick to open his account for the season and help his side to all three points.

Airbus UK Broughton remain the only side in the division with a winning record as they beat Flint Mountain 4-1 at home. 18-year old Kaiden Cooke bagging his first league goal of the season for The Wingmakers in another impressive win.

Thomas Creamer scored the vital goal in Colwyn Bay’s 1-0 away win against Mold Alexandra. The Bay remain undefeated since their opening day loss against Bangor.

It was goals galore at The Ring as Holywell Town beat Llay Welfare 5-2. The home side fought back from two goals down before a Morgan Murray goal and brace from Jake Cooke finished them off.

Cymru South

Baglan Dragons rescued a late point in their 2-2 home draw with Llanelli Town. Craig Wilcox had given the hosts the lead before Joe Hunt and Ethan Cann scored to turn the game on its head.

Harry Davies struck in the 85th minute to secure a point for Baglan as they ended a two match losing run in the Cymru South.

Keane Watts continued his rich vain of form in front of goal as his eight of the campaign was the difference in Goytre United’s 1-0 away win against Newport City. The result marks the first time the newly promoted side have lost a league game.

There was a dramatic ending at Rhiw Dda’r as Taffs Well snatched a 2-1 win against Cwmbran Celtic. Alex Bonthron had given the visitors the lead before Samuel Johnson and 95th minute goal from David Lyon secured the three points.

Liam Eason scored his eighth goal of the season as Pontypridd United earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory at home against Caerau Ely.

Carmarthen Town survived a fightback from Ammanford as they picked up a 3-2 away win. Gavin Jones, Noah Daley and Tobias Jonas had given The Old Gold a 3-0 lead after just 17 minutes.

However the game wasn’t over as Ammanford fought back with goals from Adam Morgan and Callum Jones. Despite the scare Mark Aizlewood’s men held on for all three points.

Llantwit Major bounced back from last weeks defeat to Trefelin with a 3-1 away win against Afan Lido. Jonathan Hood had given the hosts the lead before three goals in the final 18 minutes swung the game for Major.

Penrhiwceiber Rangers’ wait for a first league win goes on as they lost 1-0 at home against Cambrian United. A 23rd minute goal from Abdulrasheed Ibrahim was the difference as United remain unbeaten.

Trefelin fight back to end Bluebirds winning run

A 98th minute goal from Trefelin ended Trethomas Bluebirds’ winning run in their 2-2 draw. Ethan Edwards continued his fine form for The Bluebirds with a brace to give them a two goal advantage.

Lee Trundle scored his fourth of the campaign to pull one back for the visitors before the late strike from Callum Saunders rescued a point for his side.
