A remarkable second half fightback from Barry Town United secured their first win of the season as Penybont kept their place at the top of the JD Cymru Premier with a crucial away win.

The New Saints and Aberystwyth Town will face off at Park Hall on Tuesday night due to the champions participation in Europe.

Here is a look at all the action from the top division this weekend.

Haverfordwest County opened the weekends action with a 3-0 home win against Newtown on Friday night.

Powerful centre-back Lee Jenkins opened the scoring for The Bluebirds with a towering header from a corner in the 33rd minute.

The task was made harder for the visitors when Zeli Ismael was shown a second yellow card just before the break after his elbow collided with an opposition player.

Iori Humphries added a second for the hosts in the 52nd minute with a header from close range. The goal was his first in the Cymru Premier.

The game was sealed just six minutes later as Owain Jones slotted home into an empty net. A defence splitting pass from Greg Walters found Ricky Watts through, he squared it to Jones to finish the move.

Penybont kept their spot at the top of the table but had to fight from a goal behind against 10-man Bala Town to do so.

Kieran Lloyd had given Bala the lead after 18 minutes with a curling effort from the edge of the area. Forward George Newell was then sent off after being shown two yellow cards in quick succession for his part in a touchline brawl.

Boat took advantage of the extra man as they turned the game around in the second half. Substitute James Crole had an instant impact as he tapped home from close range to level the score.

Clayton Green then gave the away side the lead in the 66th minute after he headed home from close range after the ball rebounded off the post. The result meant Rhys Griffiths’ side remain unbeaten and finish the month top of the league.

Drama at Jenner Park as Barry Town seal first win

Barry Town United sealed their first win of the season with a 3-2 victory against Flint United at Jenner Park. Joshua Jones had given Flint the lead tapping into an open net before Florian Yonsian doubled their advantage after rounding the keeper.

The Linnets got the slice of fortune they needed as they were awarded a penalty in the 48th minute. Keenan Patten stepped up to pull a goal back for the hosts. They were level nine minutes later as Sam Snaith headed home powerfully from a corner.

The comeback was complete in the 66th minute as Ollie Hulbert got his second league goal of the campaign as he capitalised on a defensive mistake with a strike from the edge of the area.

Despite taking the lead it was another difficult afternoon for Briton Ferry as they suffered a 5-1 home loss against Connah’s Quay Nomads. Talisman Luke Bowen got their first Cymru Premier goal with a well taken left-footed strike.

Fumpa Mwande levelled for the visitors with a header that landed inches over the line before they gained the lead from the penalty spot as John Disney stepped up to fire home.

Aron Williams added a third from close range before Rhys Hughes all but sealed the win after slotting beyond the keeper following a poor clearance. 18-year old substitute Tyler Berry got the fifth in added time with a tap in to secure all three points.

Cardiff Met maintained their unbeaten start to the season with an impressive 2-1 away win against Caernarfon Town. Defender Matthew Chubb got his second goal of the season to open the scoring with a header from a corner.

Louis Lloyd got up off the floor to equalise for The Cofis from the penalty spot before Ryan Reynolds scored a curling effort from the edge of the area to restore The Archers lead.

The strike from Reynolds was the difference as Met returned to South Wales with all three points, sitting second in the table behind leaders Penybont on goal difference.
