Barry Town picked up their fourth win of the season as they beat Briton Ferry Llansawel 3-1 at Jenner Park.

Barry took the lead after nine minutes when Keenan Patten scored.  The lead only lasted two minutes before Briton Ferry were level as Ellis Sage put the ball away on 13 minutes.

The Linnets lead again when Eliot Richards stuck in the 37th minute.  Barry enjoyed the better of the half but Briton Ferry did create when they did break forward.

In the 53rd minute the hosts got a third as Ollie Hulbert finished after a nice move from Barry.  Briton Ferry did have one back but it was disallowed for a hand ball.

Briton Ferry did have chances to get back into the game Tom Walters hitting the side netting and Kris Evans hitting wide.  Barry should have added a fourth late on but Kayne McLaggon’s shot came back off the post.

Barry are in eighth place in the JD Cymru Premier on 16 points just two off the top six.  Briton Ferry remain in 11th place six points of Flint Town in 10th.

There was a nervy moment early on for Briton Ferry keeper Rhys Wilson as he struggled to control the ball.  Wilson was able to clear as Sam was bearing down.

Wilson was need to come out and clear when a ball played over the top found Ollie Hulbert.  Wilson out of his area quickly to clear.

Another chance came for Barry when Keenan Patten forced a save from Rhys Wilson.  The home side were enjoying the better of the early exchanges and Josh Beecher had a chance but sent his shot straight at Wilson.

The pressure paid off after nine minutes as Beecher got past Ryan Bevan to play the ball to Keenan Patten.  Patten cut across the box and struck a lovely shot into the bottom corner.

Despite their good start Barry gifted Ferry an equaliser as a mix up at the back allowed Ellis Sage to equalise.

The action kept coming as Hulbert fired a shot at goal which Wilson did well to save from close range.

Hulbert was sent though again but his attempted lob over Wilson went over the bar.  Wilson was forced off due to injury and replaced by Will Fuller.

The visitors then had the chance to score as the ball was sent into the box for Ryan Bevan.  Bevan with his back to goal couldn’t get a shot off but found Sage who saw his shot blocked.

The host then went up the other end and Beecher sent a good ball across goal.  Hulbert flicked it towards goal but Kris Evans was on hand to block and then clear the danger.

Barry got a second after 37 minutes when Eliot Richards hit a wonder strike.  Picking the ball up 30 yards out Richards sent the ball into the top corner albeit with a slight deflection.

Wales player ratings vs Iceland: Four 5/10s but one 9/10 as Cymru squander two-goal lead

Briton Ferry were awarded an early free kick after a Robbie Wilmott foul.  Kian Jenkins tried to send the free kick goalwards but his effort hit the Barry wall.

Barry got their third goal in the 53rd minute thanks to Olli Hulbert.  Barry worked the ball down the left and Patten cut along the by line before squaring the ball to Hulbert who fired in from close range.

Tom Walters had an effort that was blocked after Harrison Bright lost the ball inside the box.

Jasper Payne had a chance as his flicked header forced Luc Rees into a save.  Just a few moments later and Payne turned provider as his ball found Luke Bowen in the box.  Bowen hit a shot but it was straight at the keeper.

Jasper Payne did put the ball in the net when he struck from Luke Bowen’s knock down, but the ball hand struck his hand as he brought it down.

Kayne McLaggon fired a cross across goal which was almost turned in by Patten but it was him up ended up in the net and not the ball.

McLaggon thought he scored moments later when his shot beat Fuller and struck the post but went back out rather than in.

Luke Bowen got the ball for Briton Ferry and sent it across the goal line.  Tom Walters was rushing in but Ben Williams-Margetson was there first to clear.
