Rhyl appoint former Hednesford Town, Colwyn Bay, and Warrington Town boss as manager
CPD Y Rhyl 1879 have unveiled Paul Moore as their new first-team manager.
The Lilywhites parted company with Gareth Thomas at the end of October, ending a four-year association. Their search for a new manager only lasted a week and has ended up with them landing on a former Colwyn Bay manager.
He possesses the UEFA A Licence, that would allow him to manage in the Cymru North. During his playing career, Moore turned out for Portsmouth and Stoke City.
Moore was in charge of the Seagulls during their time in the Northern Premier League North, which is the eighth tier of English football. He lasted seven months in the hot seat, before being relieved of his duties.
Speaking to the official club website, he said: “Throughout my managerial career, I’ve enjoyed cup successes, promotions, and relegation escapes, each one a unique challenge.
“The management team and I are excited to take on the challenge at Rhyl, a town rich in footballing history and now our new club embracing an exciting journey.
“We’re looking forward to building on the great work of the previous management and, of course, the Board. It’s an exciting challenge, and we can’t wait to get started.”
Moore most recently was in charge of Hednesford Town. His contract was not renewed after Hednesford finished second from bottom in the Northern Premier League West Division. He had only taken the job in February.
His other clubs include Newcastle Town, Congleton Town, Clitheroe, Leek Town, and Warrington Town, Newcastle Town. Moore’s experience of the Welsh football pyramid is that he worked as an assistant manager at Connah’s Quay.
