Swansea City announce new Head Coach
Swansea City have announced that Yzzy Taylor has been appointed as new Head Coach.
Taylor arrived at the Swansea.com Stadium as an assistant to Jamie Sherwood last season and took over when he left towards the end of the 2024/25 Genero Adran Premier season.
During her time in charge, the side were unbeaten and finished top of the Plate Conference.
As well as working for Swansea, will combine her duties as a coach of the Wales Under-19’s team.
“I’m delighted to become the new head coach of Swansea City,” she said to the official club website.
“I’m keen to carry the momentum from the end of last season into next season.
“This squad is strong, and I have full confidence in every player to improve and develop ahead of next year’s campaign. The hard work starts now.”
It is her first permanent job as a manager since leaving Cardiff Met. She was at Cyncoed Campus for 11-years as a player and a coach, and won the Manager of the Year award in 2022. During her time with the Students, she helped them to six league titles, three Welsh Cups and three Adran Trophies.
Swansea City CEO, Tom Gorringe, commented: “We’re delighted that Yzzy has committed to the Swans. Since she took over as caretaker head coach, we’ve been on a great run and we’re excited to see how the team, under her leadership, can improve next season.”
Chloe Bull, Football Operations and Administrator for Swansea City Women, added: “The way the team has been playing under Yzzy has been superb, we’ve been scoring lots of goals and difficult for teams to play against.
“It was an easy decision to make Yzzy the head coach. The players clearly love playing for her, and she’s finished the season with five wins which is brilliant.”
