Everton are expected to allow two Welsh youngsters to leave the club this summer as they seek valuable first-team experience elsewhere.
Academy prospects Aled Thomas and George Morgan are both set to depart Finch Farm, with the Toffees keen for the pair to continue their development through regular senior football.
Having already represented Wales at youth international level, both players face an important summer as they look to take the next step in their careers.
George Morgan
According to the Liverpool Echo, Morgan is being targeted for a loan move ahead of the new season.
The Milton Keynes-born striker has earned six caps for Wales Under-19s, featuring between October 2024 and March 2025. He marked his debut with a goal in a 3-3 draw against Italy, while his most recent appearance came in a 1-0 defeat to Portugal.
Morgan has also represented Wales at Under-17 level, making five appearances under Craig Knight, and has a further four caps across the Under-15 and Under-16 age groups.
The forward spent the second half of last season on loan with French side AS Cannes, a sister club of Everton under The Friedkin Group. After joining in January, he scored twice in 12 league appearances as the club competed in France’s fourth tier.
He’s under contract at the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium until the summer of 2028 according to TransferMarkt.

Aled Thomas
Football Insider reports that Chesterfield, Doncaster Rovers and Port Vale are all interested in offering Thomas his first taste of senior club football away from Everton.
The Wrexham-born centre-back made 28 appearances in all competitions last season, helping Everton’s Under-21 side keep six clean sheets in Premier League 2.
Thomas, 19, earned a call-up to Matty Jones’ Wales Under-21 squad in March, featuring in both the 2-0 victory over Belarus and the 4-0 defeat to Denmark. He has also won five caps for Wales Under-19s, making his debut under Rob Edwards in March 2024 before representing his country in the UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifiers in North Wales later that year.
According to Transfermarkt, Thomas’ current Everton contract is due to expire next summer, making the upcoming loan move a potentially pivotal step in his development and long-term future at the club.
