Cardiff City sign striker from Portuguese club as Luton Town snap up Barry Town forward

The summer transfer window continues to gather pace across the Genero Adran Leagues, with clubs like Cardiff City strengthening their squads ahead of the new campaign.

Cascade have made perhaps the biggest statement of the latest round of activity, bringing in former Bluebirds duo Lisa Owen and Ceryn Chamberlain.

Elsewhere, The New Saints have added promising goalkeeper Molly France, while Gwalia United have continued their recruitment drive from the Adran Leagues with the signing of Summer Evans.

Barry Town United have seen Kiera Harris depart for Luton Town, while Penybont will say goodbye to experienced defender Holly Broad.

Cardiff City, meanwhile, have added another attacking option in Haile Richards.

Cascade land Cardiff City duo

Cascade have pulled off a major double signing by bringing in Lisa Owen and Ceryn Chamberlain from Cardiff City.

The two experienced players bring a wealth of top-flight and European experience to the second-tier club as Cascade look to build a squad capable of challenging near the top of the Adran North.

Owen, 29, spent 12 years with Cardiff City and established herself as one of the Adran Premier’s most consistent full-backs.

She was part of the Bluebirds side which won a historic domestic treble and also represented the club in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Chamberlain joins after an equally successful spell in the Welsh capital.

The goalkeeper spent 11 years with Cardiff City after joining in 2015 and helped the club win three consecutive Adran Premier titles, in 2022/23, 2023/24 and 2024/25.

She also lifted the Adran Trophy and six Welsh Cups, while featuring in three Champions League campaigns.

Chamberlain claimed the Adran Premier Golden Glove during the 2023/24 season.

The arrivals of Owen and Chamberlain, announced within 48 hours of one another, represent a significant statement of intent from Cascade.

The club will now hope their experience can help drive a challenge in the second tier.

The New Saints sign France

The New Saints Women have strengthened their goalkeeping department with the signing of 19-year-old Molly France.

France joins TNS following a spell with English club Poulton Victoria, having previously made her breakthrough with Connah’s Quay Nomads.

She enjoyed an impressive 2023/24 campaign with the Nomads, keeping seven clean sheets and being named the club’s Young Player of the Season.

France went on to win the Genero Adran North Golden Glove the following season as Connah’s Quay reached the Adran Premier play-off final.

She becomes TNS’s sixth new signing of the summer as the club continues to build an ambitious squad ahead of the new Genero Adran Premier season.

Harris leaves Barry for Luton Town

Barry Town United forward Kiera Harris has completed a move to English club Luton Town after two seasons with the Adran Premier side.

The 21-year-old joined Barry from Pontardawe Town Ladies ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, having previously made a name for herself in the Genero Adran South.

Harris scored an impressive 57 goals in 57 appearances, adding 12 assists, during her time with Pontardawe.

She then stepped up to the Adran Premier with Barry, making 21 appearances and scoring five goals in her first season.

A further 18 appearances and five goals followed last term.

Harris now heads across the border for the next stage of her career with Luton Town.

Gwalia United continue recruitment

Gwalia United have added another promising young attacking player with the signing of Summer Evans from Carmarthen Town.

Evans featured in all 14 of Carmarthen’s Genero Adran South matches during the 2025/26 season, scoring six goals.

She also impressed for the club’s Under-19s, finding the net 10 times in nine appearances while providing two assists.

The move represents another significant addition for Gwalia as they continue to recruit some of the most promising talent from across the Adran Leagues.

Evans follows Esme Kilburn-Thompson and Anya Grunewald through the door as Gwalia step up their preparations for the new campaign.

Broad set to leave Penybont

Experienced defender Holly Broad is set to leave Penybont after two seasons with the club.

Broad has previously represented Cardiff Met and Pontypridd United and has established herself as a respected figure within the Welsh domestic women’s game.

Penybont will lose both her experience on the pitch and her influence around the squad, but she will have the chance to make one final appearance for the club.

Broad is set to return for a special pre-season appearance at the DragonBet Stadium, where a celebration event will be held in her honour.

The defender leaves after making a lasting impression during her two seasons with the Bont.

Cardiff City add Richards

Cardiff City have continued their busy summer recruitment with the signing of striker Haile Richards.

The forward becomes the Bluebirds’ sixth addition ahead of the new season, arriving with experience of football in Spain, Portugal and England.

Richards has previously represented Villajoyosa CF and Elche CF in Spain, as well as Portuguese side SC Rio Tinto.

Her spell with Rio Tinto was particularly productive, with the striker scoring 13 goals in 23 appearances.

She has already spent several weeks training with Cardiff City and will now look to make her mark in the Genero Adran Premier.

Richards joins Ella Hilliard, TJ Gauvain, Anna Houghton, Kate Oakley and Gillian Keenan as part of Cardiff City’s summer recruitment drive.
