Cymru Premier: TNS hit six as Trefelin claim first win and Connah’s Quay fight back

The Cymru Premier delivered a weekend of drama as The New Saints hit six against Holywell, while Trefelin claimed their first win of the season and Connah’s Quay Nomads fought back to secure victory.
Trefelin claimed their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory at Cardiff Met, while Connah’s Quay Nomads fought back to beat Briton Ferry Llansawel. Ammanford also made it back-to-back victories with a narrow win over Cambrian United.
Caernarfon Town snatched victory at Haverfordwest County, Airbus UK Broughton hit four past Llandudno, and Penybont came from behind to defeat Barry Town United.

Cymru Premier: Trefelin earn first win as Connah’s Quay fight back
Trefelin secured their first win of the Cymru Premier season with a 3-1 victory away at Cardiff Met.
Lewys Ware opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the eighth minute before Jasper Jones doubled Trefelin’s advantage in the 31st minute.
Cardiff Met responded after the break, with Jack Hooper finding the net in the 62nd minute to give the hosts hope of a comeback.
However, Trefelin restored their two-goal cushion with 11 minutes remaining when Roan Piper finished a move set up by Declan Horgan-Evans to seal an important three points.
Connah’s Quay Nomads also picked up a valuable win, coming from behind to beat Briton Ferry Llansawel 2-1.
Tom Walters missed a penalty for Briton Ferry in the sixth minute but made amends by opening the scoring in the 33rd minute, with Tom Price providing the assist.
The Nomads responded eight minutes into the second half when Jordan Hodkin equalised, assisted by Max Woodcock.
Woodcock then turned provider into goalscorer in the 63rd minute, finishing a move set up by Hodkin to complete the turnaround and secure victory for the visitors.
Ammanford make it back-to-back wins as Caernarfon strike late
Ammanford continued their improvement with a second successive victory, edging past Cambrian United 1-0.
Joseph Case, a signing from Barry Town United, scored the only goal of the game in the fourth minute. The forward was assisted by goalkeeper Tom Wright, who joined on loan from Swansea City.
The result marked back-to-back wins for Ammanford after a lengthy wait for their first victory of the season.
There was late drama when Jarrad Wright was sent off in the 98th minute. It was Cambrian’s fourth red card in four games, with the club having now seen a player sent off in three of their last four matches.
There was late drama at Haverfordwest County. Zack Clarke put Caernarfon ahead from the penalty spot in the 12th minute, and the visitors looked on course to take the points when Lewis Rees was sent off with 10 minutes remaining. Haverfordwest manager Tony Pennock was also shown a red card.
But Caernarfon almost rued not taking advantage of the situation. Ben Ahmun equalised three minutes after Rees’s dismissal for the Bluebirds with Kyle McCarthy providing the assist.
Just two minutes later, Sion Bradley struck a sublime winner to complete a remarkable turnaround and hand the visitors all three points.

TNS run riot with six goals as Airbus cruise past Llandudno
The New Saints produced one of the standout performances of the Cymru Premier weekend, thrashing Holywell 6-1 away from home.
Brad Young gave TNS the lead from the penalty spot in the 31st minute, but Danny Sullivan equalised for Holywell seven minutes later to give the hosts a foothold in the contest.
TNS responded strongly, with Rhys Hughes restoring their advantage in the 44th minute.
Josh Lock extended the lead in the 68th minute before Jack Bodenham added another four minutes later.
Ben Clark struck in the 89th minute, and Jordan Williams completed the scoring in stoppage time to cap a dominant display.
Airbus UK Broughton also enjoyed a convincing away victory, beating Llandudno 4-1.
Ben Maher gave Llandudno an early lead in the eighth minute, but George Peers equalised for Airbus from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute.
Jordan Evans put the visitors ahead three minutes later, before Peers scored again in the 44th minute to give Airbus a two-goal cushion at half-time.
Llandudno made a change in goal at the interval, with Jack Fisher replacing Joel Torrance, but Airbus continued to control the match.
Peers completed his hat-trick in the 62nd minute, putting the result beyond doubt. Llandudno’s afternoon worsened when Iwan Cartwright was sent off in the 85th minute.
Penybont fight back to beat Barry Town United
Penybont strengthened their position in the Cymru Premier with a 3-1 victory over Barry Town United after coming from behind.
Nineteen-year-old James Lester gave Barry the lead in the 11th minute, scoring his first goal for the club since joining from Llanelli Town.
However, Penybont responded quickly, with Ethan Cann equalising in the 18th minute.
Tyler Walker then converted a penalty in the 39th minute to put the hosts ahead before Cann struck again in the 53rd minute to complete the scoring.
Penybont’s second-half goal ensured they finished the match with a comfortable two-goal advantage, while Barry were left to reflect on a promising start that ultimately failed to deliver any points
The latest Cymru Premier results provided plenty of talking points, from TNS’s emphatic win to Trefelin’s breakthrough victory and Caernarfon’s dramatic late turnaround.
