Byron Davis has left Holyhead Hotspur to join Nantlle Vale after making just nine appearances for the club following his summer move from Felinheli.

The 19-year-old striker is dropping two divisions to join the North Wales Coast West League Premier Division outfit, which currently sit fifth in the table with 13 points from their opening seven matches.

Davis arrived on Anglesey with an impressive goalscoring record. However, his spell with the club has come to an end after just a handful of appearances.

Holyhead confirmed his departure in an official statement, thanking the forward for his contribution and wishing him well for the next chapter of his career.

Byron Davis leaves Holyhead Hotspur to join Nantlle Vale

They confirmed confirmed that Davis had departed the club to join Nantlle Vale, who compete in the fourth tier of Welsh football.

In a statement, the club said: “Holyhead Hotspur can confirm that Byron Davis has left the club to join Nantlle Vale Football Club.

“We would like to thank Byron for his time and contribution during his spell with Holyhead Hotspur and wish him all the very best for the next chapter of his footballing career.

“Good luck, Byron.”

Davis also thanked the club and its supporters following his departure, saying: “Thank you to everyone in the club and the fans for the welcome. All the best for the season.”

The teenager made nine appearances, scoring once after joining from Felinheli during the summer.

His last appearance came at the end of September, when he suffered a 2-0 defeat to Guilsfield. He was subsequently an unused substitute for the matches against Denbigh Town and Caersws.

Striker enjoyed prolific season before Holyhead move

Davis joined Holyhead after establishing himself as a prolific goalscorer with Caernarfon Town Development before stepping into senior football.

His first campaign in the senior game, in 2025-26, proved particularly productive. The forward scored 28 goals in 34 appearances, including 20 league goals for Felinheli in the third tier of Welsh football.

Those performances made him a promising young attacking prospect in the region and earned him a move to Holyhead during the summer.

He will now look to make an impact at Nantlle Vale, having moved to a side competing two divisions below Holyhead.

Holyhead Hotspur battling to climb out of relegation trouble

Davis’ departure comes at a difficult time for Holyhead, who find themselves 14th in the table and occupying one of the relegation places.

There is just one point separating them from Ruthin Town, leaving little margin for error as they look to improve their position and move away from danger.

Holyhead will now continue their fight for survival without a forward who arrived with an impressive goalscoring pedigree, although Davis scored just once during his nine appearances for the club.

For the 19-year-old, the move offers a fresh opportunity to make his mark at Nantlle Vale as he looks to build on his previous record in front of goal.

Nantlle Vale sign Sion Kelly ahead of Cemaes Bay fixture

Davis is not the only new arrival at Nantlle Vale, who have also signed Sion Kelly from Ardal North West side Bethesda Athletic.

The 21-year-old has already made his debut for the club, featuring in their 4-1 victory over Bontnewydd.

Kelly made two appearances for Bethesda in the third tier this season, including their 6-1 Welsh Cup defeat against Nantlle Vale before completing his move to his new club.

Nantlle Vale have made a solid start to their league campaign and currently sit fifth, having collected 13 points from a possible 21.
