Prestatyn Town’s leading goal-scorer Jordan Davies and Caernarfon Town captain Nathan Craig have been nominated for the Huw Gray Alliance ‘Player of the Year’ award.
Nathan Craig of Caernarfon Town, Jordan Davies of Prestatyn Town and Steve Thomas of Holywell Town have been nominated for the award by the Huws Gray Alliance players and managers, as these three players have received the most player of the match nominations.
Nathan Craig (Caernarfon Town)
Craig was the winner of the award last season. The former Everton youth finished the season by lifting the Huws Gray Cup with the Cofi Army.
He recently committed to another season at The Oval and will be a massive part of Caernarfon’s squad if they are to aim for promotion to the Welsh Premier League.
Craig’s manager Iwan Williams praised him for his contribution to Caernarfon this season and is delighted to see him receiving recognition.
Steve Thomas (Holywell Town)
Thomas is no stranger to awards and individual recognition, he was voted the Welsh Alliance ‘Player of the Season’ a couple of seasons back and was a vital player in the FAW Troph back in 2010/2011, scoring two goals in the final.
Steve Thomas who has been described as consistent by the Huws Gray Alliance website won the Player of the Month award back in January.
Steve’s manager John Haseldin sung the praises of his forward player, stressing his importance to the side.
“I’m delighted for Steve to get this kind of recognition! He’s had another fantastic season and he’s reaping the rewards for his hard work. He is a AA player for me , attitude and ability is second to none. He trains as he plays , always gives 100% as a minimum and I personally can’t speak highly enough of the lad.”
Jordan Davies (Prestatyn Town)
Jordan has had a season to remember for the Seasiders, picking up the Golden Boot for the division as he helped his side to the Huws Gray Alliance title as well as helping get Prestatyn to the Quarter-Finals of the JD Welsh Cup, only to narrowly lose out to Connah’s Quay Nomads. Davies has since left Prestatyn after a mutual agreement between player and club.
In total, the Wrexham trainee scored 27 goals in 24 appearances, scoring more goals than games, this season.
The three will find out the winner when the representatives from each Cymru Alliance club meet at an AGM meeting on June 10th.
