John Davies has sealed his return to Huws Gray Alliance outfit Airbus UK as a player-coach
The move ends an eight-year exile from The Airfield for the ex-Chester City defender, who was named in the Huws Gray Alliance Team of the Season last term, and is likely to play an important part in manager Andy Thomas’s bid for promotion at the first time of asking.
The 32-year-old already has plenty of memories at the club, making 134 Welsh Premier League appearances for the Wingmakers after being released from the Deva Stadium.
A brief spell at Colwyn Bay in 2008 paved the way for a move to Flint Town United a year later, where he was a first-team regular in the heart of the defence.
Davies is likely to also be looking forward to the challenge of working within the club’s coaching team, which has been further boosted by the return of another former club stalwart this week.
Former Watford reserve Mark Allen has been promoted to the senior coaching set-up from the academy.
Allen made 385 appearances in the Welsh Premier League as a player and will hope to build on his experience further under the coaching team of the club where he spent the last six seasons of his playing career.
