Mid Wales Roundup – Matchday 11

There were eight games spread across the two divisions, and only one team kept a clean sheet – who said Mid Wales football isn’t entertaining?

Mid Wales Division One

Builth Wells 8-0 Tywyn Bryncrug

The home side record their third win of the season, whilst Tywyn are still looking to change their fortunes after their recent poor form. This result puts four points between Builth in 11th and Tywyn in 12th.

Carno 3-1 Kerry

Carno have moved above Kerry with this result and improve their recent form over the last five games. Max McLaughlin scored the consolation goal for the away side.

Churchstoke 1 – 3  Aberaeron
Aberaeron took a step toward closing the gap on the top six with an away win. A solitary home goal was all the home faithful had to cheer about but it wasn’t enough to change their fortunes as they go another game without a win.

Mid Wales Division Two

Aber Uni 1 – 3 Newbridge-on-Wye
The Students came unstuck to the early league leaders despite playing passing football throughout. A brace from Ollie Woods and a strike from Charlie Boucher was enough for an away win.

Four Crosses 3 – 1 Machynlleth
Machynlleth are still searching for their first league win and are still stuck on two points for the season. Whilst the home team are closing in on the top spots with games in hands on the teams above them.
Montgomery 2 – 2 Rhayader
A late penalty stopped Rhayader coming away with all three points; Tom Evans scored from the spot.
Presteigne 3-2 Abermule
The home side recorded their first win of the season in a close encounter with mid table Abermule. Curtis Williams helped his side out with a brace and teenager Marcus Pearce got the other goal.
Waterloo Rovers 1-2 Hay St Mary’s
Hay St Mary’s kept pace with Newbridge with another away win. Andrew Gwilt scored for the home team but an own goal and a Jack Biggs goal secured the points.
